Here are some sunset shots taken along Great Ocean Road. Time taken is around 8pm – 10pm as the sun only started to set around 9pm.
Cape Otway is a cape in south Victoria, Australia on the Great Ocean Road.
This lighthouse is the second lighthouse completed on mainland Australia and it remains the oldest surviving lighthouse in mainland Australia.
Along the Great Ocean Road, we stopped by to shoot the famous scenic view of “12 Apostles”. Seeing them with our own eyes are truly, unbelievably magnificent & beautiful.

Our visit to the city starts with a walk along Albert Road. We started our day early and the walk is most pleasant as the streets were empty. We were to head on to a stop where we will then take the free shuttle to the city. Getting to the stop, we chanced upon the “Shrine of Remembrance”. It is a beautiful shrine built to remember the Australians who fight during the war. The architecture is beautiful, with pillars that reminds us of the architecture that you see in the movies “Samson & Delilah” or “Julius Ceaser”.

We then took the free tourist shuttle to Carlton Garden. It is a beautiful garden and this is where you see the Australians relaxing in the garden – you see people reading under the trees, sunbathing, packing their lunch boxes, parents with kids playing. After Carlton Garden, we took the city tram to Fitzroy Garden. Fitzroy Garden is rather big, you would need to have a bicycle to be able to move around the whole garden. Near Fitzroy are a few government offices named as Treasury. It poses as a rather interesting architecture building. In Fitzroy itself is Cook’s Cottage.

The distance from where we stayed (Ferntree Gully) to Philip Island took about one and half hour. A long drive, but the journey along is really captivating. It is entirely a different scene with the views of farms spread across a vast land. There are sheeps and cows seen on the farm. Certain areas, are views of the farm and beyond that is the sea. The sky is clear blue – simply beautiful. For those of you who are not sure where Phillip Island is… there’s a map below of this post for your reference.
Churchill Island
Our first stop was Churchill Island. It is owned by the Churchill families and you can see the actual house and visit the farm. The house is left almost untouched, so you can see a lot of antiques. Being old, it does seemed a little spooky though. The farm however is simply beautiful. Map and pictures as below.
Koala Conservatory
Our second stop was Koala conservatory. Many years ago our friends who have visited Australia usually comes back with souvenir of koalas but this time round, seeing the koala with out own eyes are just amazing – they are the cutest little thing you ever seen (other than the penguins). But yes, you can see them sleeping on trees, all so cute and cuddly – makes you want to have them as pets!
The Nobbies
Our next stop was the Nobbies – simply captivating scenery – the wind of the waves is extremely strong and cold. There is a big rock which they call it as The Nobbies and here is the sanctuary of seagulls. You can see amazingly big flocks of seagulls here and the landscape is simply beautiful.
Phillip Island Map
The beginning of a new year where we landed safely in Melbourne, Australia. The captain of the flight usher us to the new year while we were on the flight - yes we did our countdown in the plane.
Weather is cold, eventhough is summer. We were told just 3 days before our arrival… it was actually very hot. They predicted the weather to be cooling the next few days before the temperature rises again.
Today is beach day. We make our journey to various beaches along this stretch called “Mornington Peninsula”. There’s a map right below of this post for your reference.
The first was this suburb called Edithvale. The next stop was Long Island, Frankston… where there were more beach activities. Seagulls are common on beaches and you can see them roam freely around.
The next place visited is Sorrento – a small beautiful place with the conveniences of restaurants, cafes and retail outlets laid on a stretch. Here, you can see a lot of youngsters hanging out, skating and roller blading. Next destination is Portsea (located at the edge of the peninsula). Here, we stopped at this place called London Bridge. It is actually a big rock, sculptured naturally by Mother Nature. It is beautiful and from a distance, it almost looked like a dragon head. The place is all natural with untouched seaweeds and beautiful rocks.
